| Walk description
Starting in Pirnmill, this route heads up the Allt Gobhlach then follows the steep ridge to the west of Coire Roinn, and then onto Beinn Bharrain. The path then curves round to Mullach Buidhe, the highest point at 721m, where a whaleback ridge reminiscent of a Grampian mountain stretches out before you. The terrain, vegetation and location give the impression of greater altitude. The route along to Beinn Bhreac is relatively easy and the views east to the rest of the Arran mountains and west to Kintyre and Jura are wonderful. You might see an eagle hunting over Loch Tanna, red-throated diver on the Dubh Loch, or even a ptarmigan which have frequented these hills over the years. The route then heads down the east side of Coirein Lochan to Coire Fhionn Lochain, a lovely little lochan nestling in a spectacular bowl, a classic glacial feature. If the weather permits, we could get our feet wet! The final hour is on a rough path down to Thundergay.
