Social Events

You don’t have to come on one of our guided walks to take part in the Arran Mountain Festival – our social events are open for all to attend!

Every afternoon – Post mountain coffee, tea & cake

What better reward after a day in the mountains than a well-deserved cuppa and some homemade cake? Refuel, relax and relive the day’s highlights with fellow festival participants.
FREE for festival participants, donations very welcome.
Place: Festival Hub at the Auchrannie Playbarn
Time: Approx. 15.30 to 17.30 (times will be adjusted to try and accommodate return times for all walks and runs).

Friday, 15th May 2026 – Kit Night + Social Gathering

Kit Night at Arran Active

Come along to Arran Active to hear a presentation and get advice from their experts about layering, clothing technologies, Footwear, walking poles and more.
Arran active will stay open for an extra hour for Mountain Festival-goers and has kindly offered a 10% discount on any kit bought.
Place: Arran Active, Shore Road, Brodick, Time: 18.00 – 19.00

Social Gathering

Then socialise with festival friends old and new at our informal get-together at the Ormidale Hotel in Brodick.
Bar food available. Pay for your own drinks & food.
We are very pleased to announce that long-time friend of the Festival, poet, mountaineer and musician Stuart B Campbell will be playing a varied set of traditional and contemporary songs and music.
Place: Ormidale Hotel, Brodick KA27 8BY
Time: From 18:30 onwards.

Saturday 16th May 2026 – Arran Mountain Festival ceilidh featuring The Arran Ceilidh Band.

Extend the good times into the evening! Socialise and dance the night away with old and new-found friends to the merry tunes of the Arran Ceilidh Band – with a caller to instruct and help you get in the swing of things.

There will be a raffle and, of course, the now traditional “Shove a pound” game (to win a bottle of Arran Whisky) so remember to bring a few pound coins!

Tickets available from Tuesday 16th at 5pm on Eventbrite.

BYOB. Small selection of soft drinks will be available to buy.
